Course description
- Describe the basics of operating and setting up electrical wiring systems.
- Select suitable types and ratings of electrical wiring systems.
- Design large scale domestic and institutional electric installation.

On completion of this course, learners will be able to:
- Differentiate between the various types and sizes of cables used in residential wiring.
- Work safely in an electrical environment.
- Be able to comfortably check for stability of any system using any criteria.

Course objectives of learning electrical lnstallation
→ Students should establish what they already know about electricity. Then they are introduced to the dangers, safety measures of electricity, the protective equipment at work and security measures of electricity at work.
→ The students should be introduced to the key terms of electricity. At this level because of the vocabulary used, methods like experimentation, demonstration, discussion and vocabulary review should be used.
→ Students should be introduced to the basic concepts of electricity and at this level each concept is to be handled in its details, that is Voltage, Electric current, Resistance and Power (VIRP).
→ To learn more about electricity installation and preventive maintenance as a safety culture.
→ The learners should be introduced to the important series of connecting electricity: I. Laws and rules. Ii. Cable and wires. Iii. Grounding. iv. Protection and automation devices. V. Different electricity symbols. vi. Tools. viii. World wide sockets and plugs.
→ To draw wiring diagram and using wiring tools. Also draw schematic diagram and do testing and inspections related to the wiring.
→ To be able to accurately describe fuses and circuit breakers as used in domestic electrical installation. Practically correctly install fuses and circuit breakers.
→ The learners should be introduced to lightning to cover incandescent light bulb, types of lights, light bulb sockets and bases, lumen and lux.
